I just found this company that makes bike specific racks for carrying your bicycle on your motorcycle.

Soooo have your bought a TW200 yet?
If we follow our purchase patterns, I’ll be buying one shortly after you. You buy a Cabriolet, I buy one. You buy a moped, I buy one. You pick up a TW, well... I already like them, so why not?

I have never ridden a motorcycle, but it seems that such an arrangement would make it very difficult.

Not yet. I’m working on getting the money. Currently trying to get access to an account that I forgot, or never learned the log in info for. Lol

At one point I speculated on doing a trip like that. Drive a 4x4 until you can’t get any further, then swap for dirt bike. When you can’t take that any further you bike or hike, and so on . Sounds exhausting, but I like the idea haha.

Yeah, a feather weight road bike, or maybe a smaller BMX bike wouldn’t be so bad, but a 35lb, 29er mountian bike? That seems pretty sketchy . Especially of it can wiggle or bounce at all.

Sounds like a fun way to find a nice quite place to die.

not really. a person on the back weights much MUCH more.

And passengers who don’t know how to ride can kill you. I took a girl for a quick spin around the block and she nearly killed us by not leaning with the bike as we went around a fast corner . We went wide and nearly hit the curb. That was the last time I took an inexperienced passenger for a ride.

100%
thats part of the reason why I screen any potential passengers
.
I dont care how hot that ass is, my life (and subsequently
theirs) is in my hands. Either you are briefed
and ready to roll, or we dont ride. end of story.
Also they wear AT LEAST as much gear as I do, if not more. I will 100% give up my jacket for a passenger
.

I was fairly young and stupid at the time. I’m thankful that the lesson I learned wasn’t harder. The only protective gear we were wearing was helmets. She may have been wearing flip-flops....

I didn’t get a picture of it but I saw one of these in person a few days ago. Mountain bike on a sport bike. It looks as weird in person as it does in photos .

“and so on”?! Does this end up with crawling, or perhaps spelunking?
Does sound like a great adventure.

I think we can fit some hang gliding in on the way.

As you should! Remember, young and stupid. This was many, many years ago when safety was way down the list. We rode dirt bikes in jeans and tee-shirts and only wore helmets when we had to. We only wore jeans to prevent exhaust burns and protect our legs from getting torn up by tall grass and thorns. Two-up on a dirt bike on the street without helmets was normal. We were invincible.
W e started thinking about safety when the neighbor kid came into a corner way too hot on a three-wheeler and ran into the side of a mobile home. that convinced us to start wearing helmets all the time. Then another kid rolled into the street on a dirt bike and was run over by a car. That made us extra-cautious when getting on the street, but it didn’t stop us. That kid was in the hospital for months. When he came back to school the next year, he wasn’t right.
I really didn’t start thinking about street safety until I nearly killed myself. I was riding angry because someone had pulled out in front of me. I decided to pass a long line of cars on a two-lane road . I was doing at least twice the speed limit when the postal van at the front of the line turned left. I jinked to the right and went between his back bumper and the next car in line. That’s when I started taking safety a lot more seriously.
Gear up and stay safe.

I thought about a similar trip of biking up to a trailhead near me up the canyon and then hiking up there with my bike so I could bike down the other side. I gave up on that idea because that hike sucks without a bike.

The hang glider would have to be able to carry either a dirt bike or an MTB. Maybe a wingsuit in a backpack that your bike/hike up to a mountain peak with a sheer face?
Can a canoe hold a motorcycle?

I enjoy that the bike cost about as much as the motorbike.

A TW only weights about 300lbs wet, so I’m sure you could put it on Canoe .

Right?
My brother in law and I were discussing how you could buy a nice motorcycle for the cost of some mountain bikes, specially a fat tire E bike. Which is basically what a TW200 is lol.

I mean...my argument with the guard rail (in full gear, natch) showed me everything I need.
+ my little offs at the track (‘little’
, I met the ground at 100mph and 55mph
) that I walked off (one I got up, the other I was karted off but was back on track that day) have convinced me of gear so many times over, its not even funny.

I’ve had this company's website as an open tab for years now! I really should get a setup for the Africa Twin...
